Student Organized Wellness Day at OA

On March 26th the High School Student Council hosted its third annual Wellness Day, continuing a growing tradition focused on promoting healthy habits and student well-being. This year’s event highlighted collaboration across programs, with the Foods and Agriculture classes playing a central role.

Students enjoyed a variety of healthy snacks prepared by the Foods class, including vegetarian and gluten-free options to ensure there was something for everyone. A special feature of the event was the use of fresh microgreens grown by the Agriculture class, which were incorporated into several of the snack bars, showcasing a true farm-to-table experience within the school.

To complement the snacks, refreshing lemon and cucumber water were offered as healthy beverage choices. In addition to the nutritional focus, the event provided opportunities for relaxation and stress relief. Three therapy dogs were on hand, drawing plenty of smiles and attention, while a coloring station gave students a creative outlet to unwind.  Additional activity stations included meditation, bingo, board games, and puzzles, offering students a variety of ways to relax, connect, and recharge.

Overall, Wellness Day was a meaningful and engaging experience, reflecting the Student Council’s ongoing commitment to supporting the physical and mental well-being of their peers.
