OA VARSITY CLUB - ATHLETES OF THE WEEK - APRIL 27 - MAY 3, 2026

Tennis:  David Schichler- 2nd Singles
David was dominante at 2nd Singles going 2-0 on the week (Winning 24 out of 28 games). David is now 6-1 on the season and the team remains undefeated at 7-0.
Boys Track & Field:  Elijah Carmichael
Senior Captain and Distance Runner Elijah Carmichael had a BLAZING race Saturday afternoon at the very cold and snowy Batavia Blue Devil Invitational at Van Detta Stadium.

In the 3000 Meter Steeplechase, which is a 1.9 mile race with thirty-five 36 inch barrier jumps, including the daunting water-jumps, Elijah FINISHED IN SECOND PLACE out of nineteen competitors with a time of 10:44.30!

This steeplechase performance was a LIFETIME BEST for Elijah and he now holds the TENTH fastest 3000 Meter Steeplechase time in School History.

Off the track, Elijah is a very dedicated student-athlete who is a three-sport Genesee Region All-Star and was just named the Class of 2026's salutatorian! Congratulations Elijah and keep up the great work! 


Girls Track & Field:  Katie Showler
Junior Captain and Thrower Katie Showler had a GREAT day at the Batavia Blue Devil Invitational Saturday afternoon at Van Detta Stadium. Katie finished in SEVENTH Place out of 56 total competitors in the Shot Put with a launch of 28' 2.5".

Katie placed ELEVENTH out of 51 total competitors in the Discus Throw with a toss of 81' 1".  That Discus Throw was Katie's LIFETIME BEST and ranks her 11th All-Time in School History.

Katie is also a very dedicated student-athlete who just came back from a very serious injury. Congratulations Katie and keep up the hard work!  


Baseball:  Levi Kabel
Levi moved to being our lead off hitter and in 4 games he had the highest average on our team when he went 6-14.  4 of those hits came in the Rotary Tournament and he went 3-3 against Notre Dame in game 1.  He scored 3 runs while attributing 3 RBIs and stole 3 bases.


Softball:  Allison Harkness
Allison was 6 for 9 in two wins for the week for the Hornets. She had 3 doubles a trip;e and 5 RBI's in the two wins and also got the win in the circle vs. Pembroke.
